The First Breakthrough — Galala Mountain
The true transformation began when Alhag Saed Alghanam dared to explore the then-unknown potential of the Galala Mountain. With no certainty about the stone quality or commercial value, he opened the first Galala quarry — a move that proved historic. Galala marble soon became one of Egypt's most sought-after stone materials, attracting importers from around the world.
Family Expansion & New Quarry Discoveries
Inspired by early success, the Alghanam family established additional quarries including Zafraana, Samaha, and Sunny Elsheikh Fadl. Over the decades, the family secured more than 50 active quarries across key locations in Egypt. Under Alhag Saed's leadership, Wadi Degla owned seven major quarries in Galala alone, transforming the region into one of the most prestigious marble sources in the world.
